Spiritual Directors and Co-Pastors, Revs. Christy Snow & Renee’ Leboa ~ accepted their current positions as our Spiritual Leaders on January 16, 2005. They brought to the position of ministry 5 years of experience in assisting people in realizing their connection with God, all of life and their innate goodness and limitless potential via their traveling music ministry. From 2000 until 2005, they were each individually and collectively guest speakers, guest musicians and workshop facilitators at various churches, community centers, conferences and other venues across the country. Their speaking and singing experience combined resulted in being guest presenters at over 300 churches during that 5 year period and from that experience they gleaned an energetic and sensible model for our Spiritual Community, based on the synthesis of knowledge they gained. Through Revs. Renee’ & Christy’s wisdom and leadership the center grew in membership within the first six months of their ministry from a Sunday attendance of 35 to 85. Within their first 18 months of ministry, the membership grew in consistent attendance to over 150 active members, who now have strong and active roots within the Spiritual Living Center and outreaching into valued work in Charlotte and in the world. Before Rev’s Renee’ and Christy’s leadership our community did not have children’s program, a bookstore or a music program.

Through their commitment to living the teaching of the Science of Mind, they have taught by example a philosophy that values everyone and all paths to God and recognizes the value and importance of each individual’s own personal responsibility to their spiritual growth and how that growth affects the larger whole.

With their background as professional touring musicians, understandably music is an important element in each of our services. Rev. Renee’ says, “Music prepares the soil of the mind to receive the gift in the message.” Rev. Christy says, “Music opens our hearts and allows Spirit to move into and through us.” They both feel that music moves us into a place of allowing and that “without music life would just be a bit boring.”

Our Spiritual Leaders and Co-Pastors bring passion and compassion to every service, love and laughter to every encounter. They raise us up by reminding us of who we are and how loved we are, as they are always teaching us that we are all unique expressions of God in this life.

Rev. Christy Snow

Rev. Christy began working in the field of youth and women’s empowerment via music, message and workshops in 1999. Her music career however got its start much earlier as she released her first recording in 1990. Currently she shares her gifts in a wide variety of ways as a speaker, retreat and workshop facilitator, inspirational musician, folk musician, Native American flutist, teacher, Spiritual Coach and Minister. In addition to her experience as Spiritual Leader and Co-Pastor at the Spiritual Living Center, Rev. Christy also has over 15 years’ experience as a marketing specialist with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Marketing.

Rev. Renee’ is a dynamic, humorous and gifted speaker, bringing to her teaching style 18 years of study in the field of New Thought. Her method of teaching is real and down to earth.  Rev. Renee’ authentic style and openness about her past inspire all who hear her.  She is very passionate about her most spoken statement “if I can transform my life by using the principle of the Universe, so can you”.  It is her life’s work to reach back and extend a hand to all whom have not found their internal light as of yet.  Along with her musical background and clarity for teaching the principles of the Science of Mind, Rev. Renee’ is a gifted behind the scenes leader as she believes that our community should be a beacon for all whom are searching for a higher truth.

In addition to Sunday services and teaching accredited classes on the Science of Mind philosophy Rev. Renee’ works as a Retreat and Workshop Facilitator, Mentor and Spiritual Coach. Our Music Director!

Amy Steinberg is overjoyed to be the new Musical Director at the Spiritual Living Center of Charlotte.  She is a gifted and rare talent.  She has brought a new energy to our “One Love Choir”, as she leads them every Sunday to realize the gifts that lay within each of them.  After every talk, she writes a Song on the spot with the band and choir, based on the Sunday talk.  It is amazing to watch Spirit in action as Amy. Before coming to our community, she previously led music at the Boca Center for Spiritual Living in Florida, where she started her journey in choir directing and music writing for New Thought. She has 9 CDs of original music and has written about 50 New Thought songs. You can find her playing in coffeehouses, colleges, churches and festivals all over the country. Her goal in life is to spark inspiration for creativity in the world, and to spread the good news of the Science of Mind teachings. She is studying to be a minister and is grateful to have Christy and Renee’ as her models of magnificence.

 

Our Practitioner ~ Prayer Specialist!

Our licensed Practitioners are prayer specialist and have completed a minimum of three years of accredited classes. Practitioners have proven to themselves, their pastors and to International Centers for Spiritual Living that they can successfully use spiritual mind treatment for themselves and for others.

Spiritual Mind Treatment is our word for Affirmative Prayer and you will often hear us refer to it simply as “Treatment”. It is affirming what we choose to claim for our life with a knowing that it is done unto us, as we believe!

We encourage you to call on a practitioner when life feels too overwhelming to face alone and you would like someone to know the truth for you. This source of support and assistance on your journey is available by calling one of our practitioners or meeting with them on Sundays. You can also take advantage of the International 24/7 hotline. The practitioners at the Spiritual Living Center are available every Sunday as our gift to you and the practitioner of the day is the practitioner on call the week after. In addition, you may make an individual appointment to see or speak with a practitioner during the week. Generally, they receive a love offering of $35 on days other than Sundays.
